Solution

In case anyone runs into this in the future, I had to reset my root password. DO was prompting forge to update the password which obviously it couldn't. Once I reset my root password, all was well again.

How do you reset your password? Do you just simply click Reset Root Password in the DO panel? Or Do you reset the root password back to the old droplet root password?

Please help, i am having the same problem here
