Hi there,
are you building any packages? I ran into this when making a package via workbench, it was loading a different version of Illuminate/Support that was causing the issues. If you are using Workbench quick fix that worked for me was to change the min-stability to dev and use 5.0.* for illuminate/support.
Since I've made that switch and updated composer the error has gone :) Hope this is helpful
