Can you provide me below details :-

  1. . What is PHP version installed in your shared host ? 2). In What OS and Architecture you have worked in development version and what OS and architecture is in Shared Host. [ E.g, Linux x86 or WIndows 32bit ??

Hi Getio,

The environment on the host is PHP 5.5.11, Linux x86_64

On my local environment I'm running an ubuntu linux x86_64 with php 5.5.19

Solution

Found the solution - finally!

This tells about the issue: http://codetheory.in/fixing-laravel-basic-auth-failure/

and this contains the actual code that did the trick for me: http://laravel.com/docs/4.2/security#http-basic-authentication
