Hi, I have a website (currently in development) where users can upload their photos. I am deciding where to host this application and I ran into issue with hard drive space. Of course I can host it on shared hosting with unlimited space but this is not ideal.
Better option is to host it on VPS of some kind, but these servers has small hard drive capacity usually.
I want to ask you, If it is a good idea to store the images uploaded through my site onto some photo hosting server like imageshack and then through some api display them back on my website? Is this common practice? Is it even possible?
Or is it far better to store photos on my hosting?

I won't go for Imageshack , you will lose your images .
I have some good options for you ,
- if you looking for a stable and reliable options , amazon s3 or other cloud platform for static files , amazon have laravel support , you just need a account in aws and cofing your laravel
- a dedicate server
