The API link on laravel.com will point you to: http://laravel.com/api/4.1/. That API is generated by Sami, the API Documentation Generator.
Now when I played with the url I found the older one wish also shows you the source code when clicking on the methods (I like this): http://laravel.com/api/. This is generated by apigen 2.8. I am just not sure on what version of Laravel this API is based on? Is it uptodate? I will try and use the apigen myself later and try and generate it myself based on 4.1 branch of Laravel.
I also came across an extension today: Chrome extension - Laravel API - source links. This will add links to the github master repo, but this wil only work when you visit the master branch api found here.
