this does not have anything to do with laravel. You can set up a subdomain or add another domain and point it to the app. as long as the droplet has enough cpu and ram it should work fine.

but running both the test and the production on the same server is not a good idea. make an image of the production droplet and create a new droplet from that and install the new app on that droplet. that's the best way.
