There can be many reasons why it wouldn't work. If you're using virtualbox for your VM try running that application. You'll see vagrant trying to load it and may see some additional information. Also, through that same application, just try starting it on your own and see what happens. You can login with vagrant / vagrant.

I've mentioned that hard disk is 40 GB but I have only 15 GB free. How can I change its volume?
