You could use the Laravel forge. http://forge.laravel.com/
It sets up everything Laravel needs using a LEMP stack on Ubuntu 14.14, can even automatically deploy from your git repos.

My rule in linux is still very basic, really. So I will choose to have a windows xp server with xampp (https://www.apachefriends.org/pt_br/index.html), what do you think? Serves to support the Laravel?
