I have exactly same problem but my "rig" was working until I updated vagrant virtualbox and homestead :(

now I am stuck with no homestead on my win7 as it is stuck on ssh key,

Same thing here. I had homestead working previously. Then had to update due to Windows update. vagrant up got stuck.

When I then went back to older combo of homestead box and homestead it worked again. Something about the latest version doesn't work on my system (Win10)

I also haven't open laravel for 4 months, and when I came back few days ago it gets the exact same error. Please tell me if you have find the solution, and this is my post http://laravel.io/forum/01-18-2017-vagrant-up-hangs-at-ssh-auth-method
