Not all websites need an admin page, also known as an administrator dashboard. It depends on the website.

Let me break it down for you.

When you need an admin page:

  • When your website is dynamic, some type of a blog/forum, online store, membership site, etc.
  • When website content needs to be frequently added or updated.
  • When you want to have multiple people contributing to your website, for example, 2 editors/content writers. You would create user accounts via the admin page.

When you don’t need an admin page:

  • When your website is static, does not require a lot of ongoing changes, does not have a user login, shopping cart, etc.
  • Basically when you have nothing to administer on regular basis.

With top-level access, the administrator holds the keys to the business; change settings, update passwords, create user accounts, grant/remove privileges, and more for all areas of websites. To sum up, the admin page is optional, not mandatory. It all comes down to your needs and type of the website you are trying to create.
