To face a similar problem, I had to:
- extends Illuminate\Auth\Reminders\ReminderServiceProvider with MyReminderServiceProvider
- extends Illuminate\Auth\Reminders\PasswordBroker with MyPasswordBroker re-implementing getUser method
- MyReminderServiceProvider resolve "auth.reminder" returning an instance of MyPasswordBroker
- in config/app.php change provider for ReminderServiceProvider
Hope for a simpler solution.
