it seems, that perhaps rewriting is easier.

like your problem with date. you do not save date into the db with different format. you just present the date data as each user has defined.

delete a client with all related data comes down with setting up the tables right way. foreign constraint would probably be the key.

The app's pretty much finished, and I'll expand on the points if anyone's interested in taking on some work - for example the date is in the US date format, not UK.

I'm also not closed to a rewrite thought, whichever way is the quickest to get this done.
