I used the phpoffice package https://github.com/PHPOffice/PHPExcel (That I think the package you link to above is built on)

The docs are pretty good in github and shouldn't be to difficult to do what you want

Thanks all, I've users the package of Maatwebsite as is very simple to use specially if you just want to easily prepare an Excel file of your database data.. special thanks of Laravel family for this unity! cheers!
