Thanks for sharing both packages, will be using them both!
Might improve on them a bit thought basically cache the parsed yaml file into a php array file using var_export and load the file if its date is newer from the yaml file. basically only parse the yaml files if they are newer than the cache.
will surely do a pull request when i add caching in there.
