Short answer: Yes.

Long answer: No. Utilizing Migrations will streamline your development process, and make your code more portable. I'd strongly recommend taking an hour or two to get them down pat. Check out this video: https://laracasts.com/lessons/migrations-decoded

You don't need Migrations if you don't want to. It's just an easy 'extra'
