Great work! I absolutely agree, this should be a core part of Laravel.

However, it looks like the install process hasn't been tested.

I've added a ticket to the repo: https://github.com/octoberrain/cron/issues/1

+1 - I agree. Sync driver should be replaced with similar functionality to provide an actual usable queue.
