Even though you can run other frameworks on Homestead it's been tailor-made for Laravel. Together with Laravel Forge it kind of forms a union in that Forge basically runs the same software as Homestead. In that way it makes sense to run all your apps on just the one VM, cause both environments are more or less the same. That's my take on it anyways.
