1. A few hours isn't a good amount of time to expect a response, so chill out a bit.

2. If you want 100% reliability get an SLA. Otherwise things are just a "best effort" (like email naturally is.)

Thanks for the reply. Up to now I have only been writing code. Would you please tell me more about SLA? Is it something I can do myself?

You can never be 100% sure any external services will always be available. But Mandrill and Iron.io are probably more reliable then your own server.
