Have you reloaded .bash_profile? I Presume you have.
Also, where are you putting the aliases? Naturally you need to ssh into vagrant and add them there - same as reloading.
I know they are pretty obvious, but worth double checking.

I've relaoded. The aliases all go in the .bashrc file which located in my root.. I added them manually into the file and not through git bash. Is there a difference? Because outside of shh all the other alias's work.
