Same thing for me too. using a mac on macOS Sierra with the latest versions of Vagrant and virtual box.

The error line is empty.

Solution for me:

sudo rm -rf /opt/vagrant/embedded/bin/curl

Same solution for me as deelite described above. Just delete (or move somewhere if future restore needed) the vagrant curl file. Thanks!
