i guess you want to change the field 'email' ?

You can pass the field name as an argument to the basic method in the middleware. see line https://github.com/laravel/framework/blob/5.3/src/Illuminate/A... and then https://github.com/laravel/framework/blob/5.3/src/Illuminate/A...
