Yeah I have had that a few times. I jumped on to linode and rebooted from there. Everything was ok after that.

It doesn't seem to happen every time, so I guess some messages aren't getting passed back to Forge.

It's normal i guess. Sometimes the request gets failed. Alternative you can try is Cloudways platform for Laravel or PHP hosting on Linode. Here is how easy it is: https://www.cloudways.com/blog/host-laravel-on-linode/
