Such is the response on the issue I opened on Flysystem's Git repo:
That's not part of Flysystem and should be fixed ok [sic] Laravel's end. Perhaps it was added later?
So it seems the documentation is very incorrect. I can't seem to open an issue on Laravel's Git repo for whatever reason, though.
