I havent used Vapor yet (I'm still anxiously waiting on the waiting list) but think i might be able to answer a few questions

  1. from reading the docs it looks like you can only use the AWS generated ssl certs (https://docs.vapor.build/1.0/domains/certificates.html)
  2. I cannot find it referenced anywhere but I would hope that at a minimum it will support php 7.0 as that is the minimum version required for laravel version 5.5 LTS
  3. Taylor mentioned that vapour uses its own custom run time (https://twitter.com/taylorotwell/status/1154172258635714560)

looking trough the docs it says "Vapor requires that your application be compatible with PHP 7.3+ and Laravel 6.0+." (https://docs.vapor.build/1.0/introduction.html#requirements)

I've been trying out Vapor and so far it's great! I have a question about databases. I'm trying to use an external database not associated with vapor and I'm getting am "Access denied for user" error. Is it possible to use Vapor with a database not associated with Vapor?
