I have been developing for about two years now, and I am still going to a two year college trying to finish up my software programming degree. I love where I am working now but would like to eventually move on and earn more. My problem is I am not sure what to learn and how much of it to learn. Should I learn more frameworks, master just Laravel, learn as much PHP as possible and get certified. I mean what is going to get me the furthest in my career and the fastest. Also I might note that I am 32 and did heating and air for 10 years but got burnt out of that and started teaching myself PHP and then eventually enrolled into school to try to learn even more.

Hey Anthony,

learn design patterns and everything you can about clean code. Thats really what people are looking at interviews or on web when looking for new developers. Then try to learn framework and some packages. For example laravel with dingo api package, jwt-auth etc...

You dont have to know everything in framework, but when you are working in it try to find best practices and do clean code!

Hope that will help you :)
