[FIXED] Artisan denied access to database with correct de...

Marcus posted 2 months ago

Something very strange is happening. I'm using MAMP to locally host my project, and that is able to access the database with the details specified in config/database.php and .env - and when I change these details it fails to access the database - however when I run 'php artisan migrate' I get the usual error code associated with incorrect login details (Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES)). I've only ever used Valet before, but am now using MAMP so I think it may be my lack of experience in setting that up. I have specified a UNIX_SOCKET in .env and config/database.php and cleared my config and cache a million times. Thanks for any help.

[EDIT] Fix: Since Laravel 5.5 UNIX_SOCKET in .env should be named DB_SOCKET.
