Authentication Success but Redirect kills the session
I was facing the same issue. I just upgraded to php 5.5 and it worked.

Redirect::to() in 'auth' filter displays plain text message "Redirecting to url"
I was facing this problem for 5 days. I just updated to PHP 5.5 and it started working. (apache)
