We cannot tell you which is better. I used dompdf once, it did the job. That's it. Maybe thujohn supports more css properties or it doesn't. You go with whichever does the job.

i would look at docs for both & setup a small test to see which one performs better.

having said that, thujohn seems to be L4 only...
